Our Trampoline
The sun full of honey
Burnt out jokes, no longer funny
Jumping higher on the creaking springs
Maybe if we whisper the birds will sing
Slowly falling back down like the leaves
The sun and moon watching quiet as thieves
Air that smells of snow
Tell me where did our time go?
Bittersweet memories sting like sunburns
Everything changes when the sun turns
Laughter like water flowing
Does anyone else see the stream slowing?
Hand in hand sitting so close
Stuck outside now for the zipper froze
An abundance of memories trapped in a net
Think of all the tears we would’ve never met
Everyday the sight makes it hard to speak
Still sitting there, yet you haven’t been in weeks
The new fences like trees running to the sky
How tragic to fall from so high
Our favorite place it will remain
Where there is love there is pain
Summer comes and goes too fast
A beautiful token of our past
Once this cold winter has died
Our trampoline will be waiting outside
