The Hospital
Being admitted is the easy part,
they take you up to the unit to start.
The paperwork takes no time,
soon it shall be showtime.
They take away all strings,
which ends up being most things.
They assign you to a room,
though it feels more like your tomb.
Detox is what you go through,
it’s something you never knew.
The beds are rock hard,
it feels like a graveyard.
An alarm clock sits there,
its red numbers become aware.
Soon comes a knock,
it's time to join the flock.
3 meals and snacks throughout the day,
makes you want to stay.
The days soon pass by,
and before long it’s goodbye.
The goal is to get healthier,
but really you just feel emptier.
Out into the real world they send you,
and hope you don’t come back through.
Society is hard,
but you’re already charred.
So, go out and try once more,
for there will always be a chance to soar.
