In the grand scheme of things, it's all meaningless.

We invented time so we could be late,

Invented learning so we could forget.

If I don't get up on time today

If I forget to do my homework

The world will continue as if nothing happened.

We settle for our small role in this vast world

We settle for only knowing what we need to know,

What we find relevant.

When in reality there’s more to know,

Then you could imagine.

The universe is nearly fourteen billion years old,

Roughly forty-six billion light years long.

It's daunting, yes.

But spectacular.

We find pleasure in our small role in this universe

Avoiding the unknown

Oh how I wish to see the stars

How I wish the world could see
