The Ballad of Me and My Broken Heart
The heart is the only human organ
That you can hear
I listened to it faithfully when
It told me to pursue you
Everything after that was
A beautiful story
A beautiful ballad that
Was on repeat in my mind
But every song must end
You found somebody else
And you left me
When you left me
I wished I could go back to the beginning
I wished that I was deaf
I wished that my heart was mute
When you left
My heart stopped talking for months
I wished for nothing more than to hear
My heart’s voice again
To know that I was still alive
And capable of speaking
When you said goodbye
The only thing you left me
Was the ballad of me
And my broken heart
