A moment cemented in time, happiness and joy

The crowds cheering throughout the night

The good memories carry through the fog

Two sets of brothers, one man

A father for two, coach for the others

Vindication, pride, tradition

Here for 100 years, and for the next

On a field called Legends, so many lives impacted

The dream, the glory, the lights . . .

I miss the feeling

The locker room, the gut feeling

The meetings, the leadership and love

The weight-room, the anticipation

“Sign the board!”

“Give me a man!”

I will give all for my brothers today

Slap the sign, and head out

The walk down, the drums

Cleats on pavement, the banners

Excitement, fear, anger, hype

We wait, grab a hand, walk

The fans cheer, music plays, the tunnel smokes

The field room, quiet before the storm

A prayer said, a moment taken

The speech, “Braves pride jacks . . .”

Do the drills, come back to quiet

“When the lights come on, the freaks come out!”

Say the prayer, grab a hand, walk to the tunnel

“Dear lord, we battle as we go through life…”

I have the flag, I run in front, we are the Braves

“We hit the field like!”

Put that hand on your heart

See old glory flying

Walk out to shake a hand, flip a coin

Some teams were pretty boys, others were tough

The kick, the catch, the run

Time to run out, time to win

Fourth quarter comes, give all we’ve got

Always a close game

The seconds wind down

Take the knee

We won the game

Cheering, laughter, pictures

Coach smiling, I ask to take a photo . . .

A moment in time captured forever, preserved

A good night, a good memory.
