I will always love you, but you don’t love me back

You say that you love me, however It’s all an act

Why do you hurt me, what have I done?

I try and try but I can’t outrun this lie

This lie, you still care for me

Can’t you stop? I’m begging, I’m on my knees

I sit here crying like rain falling from stormy clouds

All because I love you. I’m willing to endure the pain

Isn’t that true love?

The author's comments:

The poem I wrote is about a women who is in an abusive relationship, even though she know's she should leave the relationship, she can't bring herself to leave, she thinks she can handle the pain, for love. I love writing poetry that makes you feel. whether that be anger, sadness, or joy. That's what I love about poetry, you can express yourself in any manner.
