On concrete, on dirt
You breath faster
As your lungs begin to hurt
You never stop running
Keeping the same pace
Passing other runners
Who dropped out of the race
Your heart races, your legs ache
But you keep running
Knowing what’s at stake
You see the finish
And start running faster
Passing your opponents
Like you are the master
You feel like you need to go to the ER
When you finally break your PR (Personal Record)
