Stars
Can you not see the sunlight?
The light creeping over the hills
Can you not feel the moonlight?
The light spilling out at will
Perhaps only the stars touch your soul,
And breathe life into your lungs
Light up your eyes,
And spill from your tongue
Perhaps starlight courses through your veins,
And runs into your bloodstream
Stitches your wounds up,
At their very seam
Perhaps you, yourself are a star
High up in the sky
Granting wishes as you soar
And catching tears from the heavens
As angels cry and mourn
