Me
She’s not happy with me,
She’s not happy with the person that I’m acting to be.
She’s looking at me with sad eyes,
She’s looking through me past all my lies.
She keeps asking me “Why?”
“Why the disguise?”
“Why all these lies?”
“Why? Why? Why” She cries.
I wish I knew,
But I just say “Because I’m supposed to.”
She just cries,
“You promised me we’d stay the same!”
“You promised we would never try to change!”
I want to stop her tears,
I want to stop her pain.
I want to see her smile,
I haven’t seen it in a while.
She used to be so bright,
So cheery.
“I know, I know”
I say my tears flowing free.
I look at her and she looks at me,
We say the same thing,
“I wish I was the same person that I used to be….”
“I wish that I knew who is me.”
