Bath tub Blues
Perfectly square, white tiles line a small, rectangular tub
A vivid blue bar of soap sits near the wall of tiles
Three children fill the tub, full of bubbles
A pair of twin brothers, dirty-blonde and rosy-cheeked
Squinting eyes look into mom’s camera
Two smiles with tiny teeth, some taken by the tooth fairy
Between them a little girl, a sister
Small, chubby cheeks offer an innocent smile
A tower of blonde hair tangled upon her head
All with round, blue eyes
All with hair, sticking up toward the sky
All smiling together
She didn’t know it wouldn’t last forever...
Time goes on and they drift apart
Getting wrapped up with other people
Forgetting what family truly means
Although not close in person
They are close in heart
For memories last as long as you remember
