A Summer Day
On top of Great Northern Peak
A hike I’ve done many times
But this time was special
Normally I hike with my siblings, unless
we’re doing something class 3 or 4 with exposure
This time was just me and my dad
On a pleasant day-hike
Chatting and relationship building
We relaxed and enjoyed life
I stood and prepared to go down
Put on my blue backpack
Tied my shoes back up tight
And offered my most natural picture pose
The mountain tops in the background
It was a great photo
And an even better day
