"And in the midst of our dying, as we rise from the organic and sink back ignominously into the organic, it is a glory and a privelege to love what Death doesn't touch." -Donna Tartt, 'The Goldfinch'

flitting and fluttering through warm air

a dust mote, a pollen grain, a memory.

the earth smells of love.

lungs full, floating upward

oh, to be as buoyant as a gull.

melting into rooftops,

mind overflowing with constellations

the breeze sings a familiar song, and you know what it means to end.

raindrops on eyelashes, patterns in smoke, the flutter of wings.

watch with me

the way the world moves.
