What Poems Are to Me
Poems are a code that only I can read
In mine I scratch the surface of my heart
I release the emotions I've been forced to contain
It’s my hatred
My love
My fears
My sadness
My dreams
All together so that I can taste freedom for a short moment
There's no reading between the lines
No big words made to confuse you
Theirs just my words
I stand by them and see ever line an emotion that I can’t talk about
But I can write about them
