Nightingale
Dripping in iridescent moonlight, I
Dream of a universe so far beyond our fingertips
That it’s cruel presence is burned into my eternal
Imagination.
Spastic giggles and kisses dipped in gold,
Dancing upon silver stones,
The earth is our adolescent playground,
Feel it quiver and quake with warning
For we have no ground to hold
Only an ocean in which we surrender;
Into the deep I immerse to
Mourn.

This poem is in dedication to a lost friend. I hope to reconcile with him again.
