Her
Lust is often mistaken
for someone else named Love.
What she does best
yes, is framing herself as someone she's not.
After all,
it's better to be used
even if for the wrong reasons.
Lust comes and goes often,
and when she comes
well, everyone is watching.
Their eyes gravitate
to her like
negative and
positive
a
magnet
in human form.
The closer you get,
the harder it is to turn away.
It is no wonder she has so many friends;
it's almost impossible to say no to her.
And Lust, she loves the attention.
Her trysts are insurmountable.
You only tussle with lust
if you are prepared to share.
She's already on-and-off with guilt
and she's friends--but with benefits--with pride.
Don't worry, they'll let you join
but commitment won't ring a bell.
The staggering thing is
she's not even that great.
Call me crazy
but the lady just
underwhelms you.
Her wiles are enticing,
her movements exciting,
but you had so much more in mind.
You'd love to back out
and be with someone
a bit
more
serious.
But Lust is an addiction,
and no matter
how determined you are,
her image will never leave your mind.
The mystery behind her eyelashes
keeps you coming back
again and again.
It really is a shame.
Lust is, after all,
the most overated woman on earth.

I've made my own mistakes, and lusting after things has been the cause of a lot of them. I wish it were easier to say no to some things, but some feelings feel so tangeable, they are practically alive.
