Meeting Point
1 minute goes by
Minds apart
Bodies separated
So far, so close
Tiptoeing to shorten the distance
The speed of a sloth
“GO FASTER” “GO FASTER”
And the gap closes an inch
And yet, we are so apart
So far away
Like different countries
Yet we’re sitting at the same table
The lions were running wildly across the Sahara
Chasing each other through the grasslands
Frogs jumping off their lily pads
Into the deep, blue sea below
Dogs running after the butterflies
That fly so high above the ground
These objects going so fast
And our hearts becoming so much closer
Time stops
We stay
Our laughs combine into one fleeting sigh
Our smiles turn into one dark, infinite frown
The gentle breeze turns into dust
And the speed at which we were talking
Exceeds to nothing
We are nothing
Our hearts have broken apart
Two separate islands
Bonded by only a puddle of water
Yet time continues to pull us closer
And it dwindles, oh it so dwindles
He grabs her hand
The heat of the jungle
Of the water
The sky
It brings us together
Yet, time has stopped
It has ended
It’s over
Yet our pulse is still racing
At the same beat of a drum
It’s over
It has begun
A match made from heaven
Meeting point.
