Growing up with so much pain

Wondering who’s to blame

Spending countless hours in therapy

But that only lasted momentarily

Feeling deep with so much regret

I realize I was such a threat

Taking her own life could have been prevented

If only I had not assisted

Looking back I’m so ashamed

Knowing I am to blame

My name is Kaylee Barnett and I am a sophomore at Elizabethton High School. I play soccer for our girl's soccer team and I sometimes manage the boys team. I love to write and I would like to become a Literature English professor after college.

"Let us go then, you and I/When the evening is spread out against the sky/Like a patient etherized upon a table/Let us go, through certain half-deserted streets/The muttering retreats/Of restless nights in one-night cheap hotels/And sawdust restaurants with oyster-shells/Streets that follow like a tedious argument/Of insidious intent/To lead you to an overwhelming question .../Oh, do not ask, “What is it?”/Let us go and make our visit."

I feel this.
