We are all made of star dust

Our atoms that make us up are from a supernova explosion

The universe itself gave up a piece of its own for us to be born

And I find comfort in how the stars shine in the dark

So when she died I looked for her in the night

All I could find was that a piece of the planet was gone

I like to believe we go back to the stars

Theres one less sparkle in orions belt

And I miss her everyday

I think of you when I watch the birds

You used to love them

Maybe you came back as a cardinal

And now you're finally free

Did you go to heaven, do you ever think of me?

I think of you all the time

I can't remember the color of your eyes

And sometimes I get angry

But I hope you're okay now

I hope you're no longer in pain

What is it like up there?

Is God nice?

Or is it just black, empty nothing?

I have all these questions

And I try not to think about it

So tonight I'll try to find you in the sky

But I just haven't found a star bright enough to match your shine
