Perfect Match
If we were a perfect match
would we burn out?
Would we have enough fuel
to keep us from the drought?
Would there be doubt?
Would there be anything to worry about?
But first we need someone to ignite the light.
Should it be me?
Or should it be you?
Right now we’re stuck in the dark,
waiting for someone to make it start.
Making my way through the cold night,
looking for the light,
so it can ignite.
Hoping you’re doing the same,
so that the flame,
will bring us together.
People say that fires don’t last long,
but we can prove them wrong,
if we last the night.
Although, we may have to put up a fight,
to get through the night,
to unite.
I see a shadow in the distance,
I run to it.
We are united,
the flame is ignited
by the both of us,
with the light,
I’m finally able to see your face,
and my world is bright.
