Which still dribbles down my back
Thank you for the lessons
When you taught me to be kind
Thank you for the scars
That defined bullying for me
Thank you for the imagery
Of golden-brown fields
Thank you for the harshness
Of the bitter wind
Thank you for the happiness
You taught me how to smile
Thank you for the sadness
Which helped me understand
Thank you for your gift
The gift of words
The greatest gift of all
