There's nothing wrong with you. There's a lot wrong with the world you live in. - Chris Colfer

A bird can fly,

But not with clipped wings;

It’s not allowed to reach for the stars

I am a bird

Tethered to the ground

With the capability to soar.

If someone would only cut the tether,

I might be gone in an instant,

But I would come back

If only I could spread my wings

And fly

With the other birds

I see in the sky,

Then I could show

How much I am capable of

And just how high

I can fly

You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
~exerpt from Max Ehrmann's Desiderata

I love this, good job!

Thanks! I love writing in free verse. Rhyming and following a rhthym feels too restrictive for me. This is my first time posting anything on this site, so I'm glad other people like free verse too.

Yes! Finally someone who doesn’t feel like they have to rhyme! Love it!
