I Surrender

To go on like this forever
Is an impossible task to ask of me.
I stand alone, missing old times
While they are still brand new.
I’ve gone insane in thinking
You and I are just alike.
It was a facade of the brain,
My mind held the strings all along.
I can no longer bear the weights
My knees buckle, bend and break.
My eyes have lowered,
I surrender.
