Since I was three years old I knew the path,

The winding and twisting of the overgrowth--

Reams of bark splitting us passage,

Twisting and twining light through

bittersweet mulch, waltzing a melody of clamouring feet.

And the bridge! Steady, sweet, faithful bridge that connected

Creaky worlds. Stars led to crackling campfires along the path,

The embers constellating soothing flares--

They made us.
