Mystical Garden
Tulip bulbs burst from the soil.
Hundreds of Parrot, Tulipa Greigii and Lady Tulips.
Surrounded by hickory trees the size of skyscrapers,
acting as protectors of the flowers.
So heroically protecting the tulips
from excess sun, providing them with just enough.
Along the grey path stands a raspberry bush.
Full and flourishing
it provides sweet red candies of nature.
As I walk further down the trail
chickens suddenly rustle the leaves.
Yelling and protecting the flock is the Rooster.
He is a beautiful variety of reds, oranges, yellows and blues.
Beauty is everywhere we just have to be willing to acknowledge it.

This piece is about my Oma's garden and the beautiful wonders it holds. She taught me the value of appreciating the small things in life and letting go of the worries that don't matter. This poem helped me to remember her after she passed away and allow me to connect with her again though she is no longer in our presence.
I am a student in high school that will be graduating this spring and I just wanted the opprotunity to share my piece with you and get evaluated on it. Thank you for your consideration.
