Bestfriend
I saw your shy smirk the day we met.
Your ruby blonde hair fell to your shoulders, curling gently at the end.
You spoke, but not much.
When you did you had lots to say.
Your wide, deep blue eyes sparkled when we spoke.
Your squeaky, timid laugh filled the room in odd ways.
We grew up together.
Five year it took.
Five years for you to open up.
Now your smile reaches your ears.
Your laugh is loud and fills a room the way you might expect.
You hair still falls to your shoulders, now pulled back revealing your gentle looks.
We laugh and we’ll continue to laugh.
Even though now 2,000 miles separate us.
We will meet again face to face in 85 days.
