The last point
Wham!
The ball cuts through the air.
Cheer fills the facility and her face is lit up they got the point.
She shivers in fear that she will lose the game.
She steps behind the line in fear for her serve that she must make over the dainty net.
Sweat runs from her forehead and drips onto the court leaving a puddle next to her toes.
She blocks out every little sound and takes a deep breath focusing on her task.
She bounces the ball and all of the weight on her shoulders rises.
Bang, it crashes the floor over and over again.
She focuses on the ball
Shouting from her head fills her ears,
A sigh reaches the surface of her lip when she hears a loud whistle rattle.
She knows that it is time to step up and win the match for her team but, the pressure reaches to the surface of her skin.
The ref's hand moves to direct that it is her time to serve.
Boom, she hits the ball with every ounce of her muscle.
The ball rotates in the air and she can’t keep her eyes off of it.
The ball tips past the tape at the top of the next
It startled the other team,
They were in shock to the point where the ball didn't bounce back over to the other side.
She Won!
She Won!
The crowd went wild and everyone was bursting out in excitement

This poem is about the stress and emotions that go on in a volleyball match. I have played volleyball all of my life and I know every moment of the pressure in the game.
