i think i'm in love with you
I think I'm in love with you
I don't know how, or when; the exact moment your eyes shifted to mine and my heart leaped to my throat.
I don't know why my first instinct is to be to cruel to you, when you and I both know I covet and desire you, the curve of your hip, the cadence of your voice.
I don't know why the sound of your voice breaking makes my head spin, the sight of tears on pale, unmarked cheeks makes my throat constrict.
I don't know why I can't just love you, and you me.
I think it would be simple, easy to love you.
I don't know why my eyes stray from yours to meet a brighter pair.
I don't know why I shiver in delight to hear words that aren't yours, words that are cold and detached.
I don't know why I crave hands on my throat that aren't yours.
I think that I'll go insane long before I feel the heat of flesh and love all the way to my bones.
I don't know why my love for you has to be so diluted, so conflicted.
I don't know why it's "I think I'm in love" and not "I know I'm in love."
