Me
She is the girl made of steel
her inner most detailed emotions hidden away locked into a chest which has no key
She is the girl who refuses to believe she cares
who refuses to believe she craves something real and deep
she refuses to believe maybe she needs a shoulder to lean on
maybe she isn’t okay being alone
maybe she needs someone
she is the lost girl
the girl looking for her true self in a world that tries to blind her
a world that constantly tries to rob her off of true emotions
she wants something to hold
and yet she is to scared to reach for it
she gave and gave and gave
until she had nothing left
and then she fell apart
and this time
when she built back up
she replaced the dough with steel
and heart with rock
she let her emotions be locked away
so maybe she wouldn’t feel it any more
she tried and tried to find a middle ground
a place where she could be herself and yet not be run over or stomped on
and she mistook a heart of steel for a middle ground
and she blindly shut out every human attachment she had
she unwillingly gave up
she hardened her heart
so it couldn’t be crushed as easily
she saved her tears for the hours everyone sleeps through
she saves her emotions for when she is completely and utterly alone
because she can’t understand someone out there will give her everything
someone out there is looking for exactly what she can give
and by locking herself away where no one can say
she doenst allow herself to be fixed
she doenst allow herself to be okay
because to be okay is to mean she was broken in the first place
and that’s something she can’t handle
