I have not Seen the Something

With my own two eyes. I’d be terrified to

Walk on water. I don’t have perfect attendance

Or whatever else you’re supposed to have

So you don’t get barred at the door.


But I have seen that door thrown open.


The author's comments:

This poem is about how radically Jesus loves us. He doesn't demand perfection from us, and He doesn't expect us to "clean up" before coming to Him. He just wants us as we are.
