A Guitar
Pick up your guitar
and create a melody
The chords of your choice
can be soothing,
like ocean waves
crashing on shore.
Or maybe even opposite,
like the sound of thunder
beating your head
to the ground.
The amount of pressure
used to hold each note,
like the force applied
to a wound,
too much or not enough.
The hollowed body helps
each sound wave echo within,
as if you were in a cave
along a shoreline.
The vibration of the
instrument against your body
feels as if you were holding
a miniature earthquake.
If played too quickly
or too much,
your fingers may burn
like a forest fire sparked
from lightning strikes
