Where I'm From
I’m from Zoboomafoo mornings,
With late Scooby-Doo nights
A neon green dinosaur toy,
With a million more.
I’m from presbyterian preschool
With half days full of fun
With tag and music circles
After school nap time with my dog
I’m from livin in a green house
With blue walls
A tiled kitchen with
Pictures everywhere on the walls
I’m from Y’all and all
Ohio valley and bipolar weather
One day hot and sunny
The next is sweater weather
I'm from Family everywhere and nowhere
Lots of family but the most important
Is gone, there's a tension in the air
No one is speaking to each other
I’m from failing grades and not passing
To honor roll and thriving with greatness
Now more than ever,
I’m proud of myself
I'm from bright lights,
With curtain calls and
Prop tables, costume changes, learning lines
Trying to never miss a scene
Trying to direct the future
