When I was young, I had a good childhood

I would play with blocks, watch tv, have fun like a child should.

But like everyone I sprung up like root to a tree,

eventually being set free.

When your a kid no one ever talks about the dangers in life,

Hoping that your mind stays alright.

They never talk about hate,

They never talk about struggle,

They never talk about reality.

When I grew up I got bullied

I used to think that I was the odd duck,

The Elephant, the one that didn't belong.

As I got older I realised that they were all wrong.

Even when I left they were singing the same song.

I used to wear thick black headbands so no one could

See, but that was the old me, I was tired of being the

Carpet under everyone's foot, getting treated like i was soot.

But like everyone I Sprung up like root to a tree,

eventually being set free.
