A Cat's Game
I made a mistake
I left my heart out,
and it was snatched up
by a sneaky feline.
He pounced on it,
and is toying with
my already fragile heart.
His claws gently prod,
making me weak
and vulnerable.
I am at his mercy
and there’s nothing I can do.
Once he is done with it
he sharpens his claws
And tears my heart open
tossing it aside,
no longer entertained.
By the time I find my heart,
and somehow sew it back together,
another hungry monster
has gotten a hold of it.
I am exhausted,
but I have no choice.
It’s out of my hands.

I wrote this going through a really bad relationship, and as soon as I got out of it, it seemed like it happened all over again, just with someone new.
