Evil Twin
I never wanted to be less than extraordinary.
I was the daughter of the King of Gods.
Intelligence and wealth surrounded our kingdom in abundance,
a goddess in my own right.
Yet one can look at me now and see
a little girl held captive.
Well believe me when I say
I plucked the seeds
of my own accord,
and Hades did not place this crown above my head.
Does duality not fascinate you?
It seems to captivate all.
Because I am both at once:
a maiden goddess of life with a pure heart of gold,
and queen of all that is dead.
I could bring you springtime
bursting with blinding rays of light,
the apparition of a heart.
But I will leave you with winter,
cold, dead, dreary-
a wasteland.
I am Persephone,
and once you are dead
I will be your queen.
