Acrobats
Dust dances through the air
Like acrobats under a spotlight
The gathers in every corner
On the shelves of unread books
On the picture frames
On the furniture
On me
I’m not an invalid.
I’m not blind to what I’ve become,
I just can’t muster the motivation
To move my arms
Or turn my head.
My legs are sinking into the bed,
And as I watch the acrobats dance
I’m painfully aware
that outside my window
The world keeps turning

Recently it's been difficult to get out of bed and do anything productive, and I feel like time is slipping away from me, missed opportunities, etc.
