Paint
Dear Friend,
It hasn’t been long since you left,
only a few short months
I feel like the same person
not much older, not much wiser
I look outside my window
and I see new buildings, old buildings too
but in a fresh coat of paint
When I look at my room I don’t see anything different
just notice a few new things here and there
I wonder if you noticed before
How was it going back?
Do you notice the subtle changes
or do you see it as it was?
