The Night He Almost Died
"Why are you crying?" he asked me.
"Because I'm in love you!"
And the walls shook with such a scream.
And my ribcage shook with a heavy heartbeat.
And he thought that was all, but there was more, there always is.
"Because I need you a lot more than you need me and that sounds selfish, but I don't care."
There was a moment of silence before I let my dignity completely fade out of sight and let my heart completely show itself.
"You can't leave me. You can't."
And I was begging him, now.
And each word came between sobs,
But he understood them more than anything else he had heard before.
"Okay."
He whispered.
"I'll stay."
And the night was filled with emotion
And my pillow was filled with tears
And the air was filled with sobs
And his heartbeat filled my ears.
I wanted a happy ending,
not just for me,
but for him too.
And the only person who can stop you from having your happy ending,
is you.
"I won't let you stop your happy ending, because your happy ending is mine too."
