The smell of a new house
The crisp cream paint on the walls
The non-squeaky wooden floors beneath my feet
New school with new friends,
Does that mean a new me?
The halls crowded with unfamiliar faces
People I don't want to get to know
I want to go home; back to Iowa where I feel safe
I miss Iowa
The familiar faces
My old home
First time friends
I don’t like meeting new people
I want my old friends back
First time new sports teams,
New teammates,
new coaches, and a new team
First time,
New me
