I wish that people could just get along

That the countries could live in peace

I wish that there were no starving children

And that all violence would seize

I wish that everyone had clothes to keep them warm

And that they all had homes to rest their feet

I wish that Jesus didn’t have to be quite so literally torn

So that people would know the truth about how much they are loved

I wish that everyone could just get along

And the world would live without fear of being mugged

I wish that not just men would respect women

But that women would respect men

I wish that parents would pay attention to their kin

And everything could go back to how it used to be

When all I wished for was ice cream for breakfast

And to play outside all day while our moms sipped her tea

I wished my best friend could stay my best friend

No matter where we moved or how old we got

I wish that life didn’t come to an end

I basically wrote this piece about life and everything that I've wished for. It ranges from small things such as ice cream to the very existance of life itslef.
