Wall

Today the air feels euchrid and coarse.

The wall between this reality and the next begin to fall.

The day is nigh, I must make a run for safety.

My home is thousands of miles from me, I left everything to be safe.

It is a gamble I must take.

I have traveled long and far, only to be turned away,

It’s been so long since i've felt the gentle warmth of my home.

They think we’re savages, here to hurt them.

They think we’re criminals sent by their own.

But we’re here for safety.

The forgotten nameless faces beaming with exhaustion;

For even their hopes begin to crumble into ash and dust.

The wall between reality and their opinions are fading;

The wall will consume us all.

We have seen this in bygone eras,

“Mr.Gorbachev, bring down that wall” , still echoes through the air.

But the people with their chanting and screaming in opposition still aren't enough;

The shining beacon of hope is no more than a facade, for the man is no wizard look behind the curtain and click your heels three times because, there is no place quite like home.

For the wall will consume us all.
