Drifting through bright galaxies, 
I sit, cradled by smooth space. 
Crisp air caresses my wounds. 
Soul heavy, I crash on a cruel planet. 
Stranded, alone…  in a basement. 
Needles dot shabby carpet. 


The author's comments:

This is written in a Korean poetry form known as sijo. It involves 44-46 syllables and 6 lines. It is supposed to have a cosmic, religious or rural theme and end with a twist.
