"A genuine leader is not a searcher for consensus but a molder of consensus." ~ Martin Luther King Jr.

When I wake up, the first thing I think about is you

I don’t know, but I think you feel it, too.

Feel your love with every waking minute,

Don’t know what life would be if you were not in it.

I just want to try to be the thing

You want most, and not to be your host.

There is a certain pain that comes with love,

Something only understood by those above.

When you love someone, there is nothing else you can do.

There is no life without that person for you.

They are your life,

And one day, maybe even your husband/wife.

The worst feeling in the world is when you love someone

And they love someone.

But that someone is not you.

And there’s nothing that you can do.

When I wake up, the first thing I think about is you.

I don’t know, but I think you feel it, too.

Feel your love with every waking minute,

Don’t know what life would be if you were not in it.

This piece was inspired when I was going through a very dark time in my life, when I had a major crush on someone, but they did not like me back. I thought it was love, and so I wrote a poem. Enjoy!
