Rescuers of the Twilight Zone
We used to joke and play
But then you grew up.
Imagination is forever
I thought it was too big to fall.
But now,
Sitting in the collapsed remainder of your memory,
I decided you had antagonized me enough.
Weakness,
This silent epidemic,
Spreading with every inch
Of unoriginality they built,
Wouldn’t win.
The arsonists in my head,
Commiting crimes to save my sanity.
Running from warrants
Are bandits and outlaws
But to the young mind
And the blind eye,
They only identify as saviors.
Rescuers of the Twilight Zone.
