“Get him out!” your classmate shouts.
“Just one more!” another classmate says.
Balls are being T H R O W N

More Balls ZOOM ACROSS
The Gym.
BANG!
Go the Guns.
You DIVE BEHIND a pile of sandbags,
Your only SOURCE of COVER.
You look around.
Only the Bloody
Ground of Dead
Allies,
surrounds you.
You’re Startled,
Trembling,
BUT
STILL IN
ONE
PIECE.
Time to Redeem yourself.
Your Squad is

And Out.
You ARE your ONLY
HOPE.
If your side is going to WIN
This Battle,
A Miracle is going to be needed.
You get UP.

Your FOES
Are OUT.
With the single THROW
Of a Dodgeball.
You’re Exhausted.
Gasping for air
After the Bloody Mess
Made in front of you.
Wondering
How the heck you’re still alive
After ALL that has happened.
ALL the times you could’ve
DIED.
You brush yourself off
From all the Dirt.
To Rendezvous
With your side
Your classmates may love you for WINNING The Battle,
But now your side must WIN THE WAR.
