Rather
And you come to a point
When you have a decision to make
And you must ask yourself
Would I rather be a warning sign or a shooting star?
Would I rather fit into a size zero or push out a child?
Would I rather take pride in the smallness of my waste or the largeness of my laugh?
Would I rather sync my breath to the sound of a monitor or have it be taken away?
Would I rather be a statistic buried in the ground or a sunflower blooming in the sky?
Would I rather be flawless and revered or imperfect and adored?
Would I rather be a boy's souvenir or his savior?
Would I rather stand in the shallow waters of my appearance or bathe in the depths of my divinity?
Would I rather define myself by a mirror or shatter a glass ceiling?
Would I rather be stared down at in a coffin or look back with tears in my eyes and whisper, "I made it."
Wouldn't I rather?
