Hunger and Hope

I thank God for the fish He has given me so I can satisfy my satire

I don’t take his precious life for granted

I roast the fish

I feast on the juicy flesh

I use his blessed bones to make steaming soup

Then I bury what’s left

And I mark it with a grave

Although I am not religious, nor do I believe in God, but I feel like it's important to appreciate the small things
