My Guarding Gates

Within the depths of the forest

All the trees her guarding gates

She sits alone and aching

And in her darkness, waits

The sun, it tries to trickle in,

So the leaves will move their cover.

But every time she sees no light

She keeps praying for another

Her forest grows with sunshine

Yet it also grows with rain.

And with its leaves in constant motion,

The lack of light causes her to drain.

As each tree grows taller,

They send their vines tumbling down

Making it that much harder

For this girl to be found.

I wrote this poem about being lost and alone, and right when something good happend something always ends up getting hurt.
