The phone lights up at 1:14 A.M.
The sight of his name makes your heart skip a beat.. Then sink
The memories of the good times flood your mind
The cuddles and kisses
The endless hours together
Then you remember
You were only one of the many girls he talked to that way
The crushing of your heart like glass
Millions of tiny shards flying everywhere
Your remember gluing your heart back together.. only to discover he took half of it
But you remember his eyes
As blue as the ocean
The big, calloused hands that held yours
The strong smell of AXE body spray that always burned your nostrils
Those eyes looked at other girls
Those hands held other girls
That body spray rubbed off on other girls
He was never yours
He never loved you

This poem is about my ex who cheated on me. I had never been cheated on... and didn't believe it when it happened. This was about my growth after the heartbreak, stopping myself form crawling back to him.
