Distracted
I sit slumped over the desk in my room
Whistling at two in the morning.
Six tabs open, two essays to be done,
But my mind is filled with puzzles.
Did you know Europa has an ocean?
Years ago, I didn’t know that.
I should be focusing on my schoolwork,
But that search bar’s so inviting.
Did you know how much we know about space,
Yet how little we know of earth?
My priority should be these essays,
But this music seems so soothing.
Did you know this old green earth we call home
May not just be one of a kind?
And as I ask this, I procrastinate,
But these papers are due next week.
