Apathy
Tell me what’s in your head
The songs of Greed and Rage
When the children you love end dead
And you wither of old age.
Tell me what you say
When those who warn of death
Blind you, and decay
Your wallet and your breath.
Tell me how you feel
When the whole world falls apart
When politicians break The Seal
And we’re brought back to the start.
Tell me why you recline
In a world so wrought with fear.
Our lives are in decline
And death so very near.
Tell me why you didn’t care
When people slowly died.
While you judge from your armchair,
At least I say… I tried.
